We want you to know that Mental Health Association of Sarawak does not sell, rent or trade customer data with any other organisation or businesses for marketing purposes.

In order to utilise some services provided by Mental Health Association of Sarawak we require your full name and email address. If you upload any media for processing that contains personal data,​ that data will also be processed and stored by us as necessary for providing you with the agreed upon services. Credit card information is passed on to a third-party payments provider (PayPal or other secure payment gateway, depending on availability of the service and your location, etc.) for processing and is never directly processed by us nor stored in any way.

By accessing our website​ We may gather certain information about you such as your general location and IP address to provide relevant contact channels as well as for analytics. Your operating system,​ version,​ browser and browser version,​ and device type may also be collected. The personal data of third parties may be provided to us by you in the course of utilising services We provide,​ such as when uploading audio or video to us for processing. Any information obtained in this way is restricted to being stored in compliance with The Malaysian Personal Data Protection Act. Policy surrounding retention and security extends to this information as well. If you,​ as a Service User,​ are providing us with media or documents that contains the personal data of a third party,​ the onus is on you to obtain processing consent from that party.

Information we obtain or create about you as part of the services We offer

Depending on your settings or the privacy policies for social media and messaging services like Facebook, WhatsApp or Twitter, you may provide us permission to access information from those accounts or services.

We may include information found in places such as Companies House and information that has been published in for example articles/ newspapers / online.

As part of the registration process for newsletters and promotional materials, we collect personal information and provide services which facilitate our clients collecting personal data. We use that information only where you have asked us to provide you information, to provide an essential means of contact as our client, and to keep records are right and to check every now and then that end users are happy and satisfied.

When someone visits websites owned, managed, created or administrated by Mental Health Association of Sarawak and associated Brand Tools, several third party services engage in standard internet activity collection which is used for anonymous analysis of website visitor behaviour patterns. Retention and Deletion

When it comes to your personal information,​ we only retain it as long as is necessary for us to provide you with our services. In terms of your contact information,​ we retain this for as long as is necessary for legal purposes,​ or as long as your account remains open with us,​ whichever is the longer. All media and documents that you provide, that are shared, or that we create for you, are stored for the duration of the project, and the service schedule of our backup systems, plus an additional 100 days from date of completion or termination of a specific project or agreed limited period that We provide you services. After this the data is automatically deleted,​ unless we receive a request from you for return of the data within 30 days of that completion or termination date. Payment information such as credit card numbers is never stored by us.

 

Information Security

We have a specialized security team who constantly review and improve our measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, accidental loss, disclosure, or unwilling deletion.

Communications over the internet (such as emails) aren’t secure unless they’ve been encrypted. Your communications may go through a number of countries before being delivered, as this is the nature of the internet. We cannot accept responsibility for any unauthorized access or loss of personal information that is beyond our control.
